Terms governing the provision of translation services by BarkTranslate di Ferrara Matteo.
These Terms of Service govern the relationship between BarkTranslate di Ferrara Matteo, Via Gaeta, 49, 16134 Genova GE, Italy (VAT IT03856420106), email info@barktranslate.com (“BarkTranslate” or “we”) and any individual or legal entity (“Client” or “you”) who places an order for translation services.
BarkTranslate provides specialist translation services in the following categories: Technical and Scientific Translation, Legal Document Translation, Medical and Pharmaceutical Translation, Website and Software Localisation, Business and Financial Translation, and Certified (sworn) Translation. All services are delivered digitally. Physical document delivery is not included unless agreed in writing before the order.
An order is accepted when: (a) you complete the checkout process and payment is confirmed by Stripe, or (b) a written quote is accepted and payment is made. BarkTranslate will confirm the order, final scope, specialist assignment, and delivery timeline within one business day of payment. Work does not begin until scope is confirmed and payment is received.
All prices are quoted in euros (€) and exclude Italian IVA (22%), which is applied where required by law. EU business clients with a valid VAT number registered in a Member State other than Italy may apply the reverse charge mechanism (Art. 196 Directive 2006/112/EC). Prices are confirmed in writing before work begins. Payment is processed via Stripe Checkout (checkout.stripe.com). BarkTranslate does not store payment card information.
Delivery timelines are confirmed in writing after order and scope confirmation. Timelines begin from the date scope is confirmed and all source materials are received. Timelines may be extended if additional source documents are provided after scope confirmation, or if clarification is requested and not received promptly. All deliveries are made digitally by email or secure file transfer.
The Client is responsible for: providing complete and legible source documents; advising of the intended use of the translated document; advising of any specialist terminology, style guides, or client glossaries; responding promptly to clarification requests. BarkTranslate is not responsible for errors resulting from incomplete, illegible, or misleading source materials.
All services include at minimum independent proofreading. Medical, legal, and certified translation includes ISO 17100-compliant review. Each service includes up to two rounds of revision for reasonable requests (corrections of genuine errors in the translation). Revision requests must be submitted within 14 calendar days of delivery. Requests for changes to the source document scope after delivery are treated as new work and quoted separately.
Certified translation (traduzione giurata) is performed by a translator registered with the Tribunale di Genova and includes a sworn declaration of faithfulness to the source. The declaration covers the accuracy of the translation, not the accuracy or authenticity of the source document. BarkTranslate does not verify the authenticity of source documents submitted for certified translation.
All documents submitted are treated as strictly confidential. Translators sign project-specific NDAs. Documents are deleted within 30 days of delivery unless longer retention is agreed. BarkTranslate does not use client documents for any purpose other than the translation service requested.
Intellectual property in the translated text transfers to the Client upon receipt of full payment. BarkTranslate retains the right to maintain translation memories for consistency purposes. The Client represents that they have the right to request translation of all submitted documents.
BarkTranslate’s liability for any claim arising from a translation project is limited to the amount paid for that specific project. BarkTranslate is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including regulatory rejection, business losses, or losses arising from use of a translation for a purpose other than that specified at the time of order. This limitation does not exclude liability for personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Italian law.
These terms are governed by Italian law. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Genova, Italy, unless consumer protection laws in the Client’s country of residence require otherwise.
Clients who are consumers under the Italian Consumer Code (D.Lgs. 206/2005) have a 14-day right of withdrawal from distance contracts. However, by proceeding to checkout and agreeing to these Terms, you acknowledge that translation services constitute a “digital content” service that begins upon your express consent, and you waive the right of withdrawal for completed or commenced work. For work not yet commenced, cancellation and refund terms are set out in the Refund Policy.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the date of your order applies to that order. Updates take effect 30 days after publication on this page.
